By Alex Zalewski and Jodi A. NelsonThe first novel of a transgender person published in the United States this year may have raised eyebrows in a certain way: it was written by a transgender man.

In the novel, titled Transgender Women, which was published last week by Tor Books, author Nellie McLeod recounts the experiences of a woman named Laura, who had transitioned to a man in her 20s, who is also a woman and the mother of two young children.

The novel was inspired by the life of a trans woman named Lisa, who wrote her own novel, and a series of essays by a trans activist named Kaitlin, whose debut book, Transgender People, was published in 2012.

McLeod said that she was excited about the opportunity to bring her novel to readers, and she hoped it would spark conversations about gender identity and gender expression.

“I don’t want people to think that I’m just writing about trans people,” McLeod told The Huffington Post in an email.

“That is not how I think about it.

I don’t think of it as a genre.

I think of myself as a person.”

Laura, whose real name is Marissa, is a writer, educator and advocate who has written about transgender issues since the 1980s, and has a degree in sociology from Northwestern University.

In a series on transgender identity, she wrote about how people experience their gender, but what they identify with is not always the same.

She also wrote about the lives of transgender people and how they cope with trauma.

McLeod said she initially had no idea how popular Transgender People would be.

“After I wrote the first draft, I knew I was onto something.

I was like, ‘Oh, my God, this is really something,’ ” she said.

“And then the first issue I got was in the anthology of essays, and I was really blown away by that.”

McLeod’s story is told through Laura’s experiences, and her own struggles with depression, self-hatred and isolation, according to her essay.

McLean wrote the novel because she felt that her life had become too static.

Laura and her children are struggling to maintain their identities, but Laura feels that the way her life is defined as being a woman is too rigid, McLean told The New York Times in a previous interview.

“It is an interesting and beautiful story of how our society is shaping our identities, our choices, our lives,” McLean said.

“I think that it is a reminder that even in a world that is overwhelmingly white, and it is overwhelmingly male, and that we are still making choices about how to make our lives.

That is why the writing is important.”

The novel has received widespread acclaim, and the story of Laura and Lisa has been picked up by other transgender writers.

The novel has sold more than 20,000 copies in the first week.

McLeods first novel, Transgender Women, was released in 2017.

McLaren said that Transgender Woman was published as a memoir, and McLeod’s second novel, Transgender Men, is set to be published in 2018.

The two authors say they are excited about working with the trans community to further the conversation about transgender identity and to encourage other authors to explore the experiences and perspectives of trans people.

“The trans community has always been a powerful and important part of our community,” McLears said.

She said that the book was written while she was experiencing mental health issues, and then she felt inspired to write the story about Laura.

“She has had a lot of trauma, and when I wrote it, I had to confront it and think about what was happening to her,” McLeod said.

McLean said that while Transgender people can be found all over the world, their stories are often told in a way that is inaccessible to trans people in the US.

“We don’t have the platform to tell the story that we want to tell.

It’s not like you can tell your story in the book,” she said, explaining that many transgender people choose to not speak about their lives publicly.

McLeods novel Transgender Persons is scheduled for publication in October 2019.
